The Programme

Students experience an immersive, intensive, international programme, combining exceptional English language tuition with a broad range of exciting electives and premium excursions to some of the UK’s favourite destinations, including Oxford and London. Students will improve their language proficiency and progress academically and develop creativity, confidence, leadership and teamwork. The skills learned by participating in the Summer Programme will help students develop into well-rounded individuals with excellent power skills and an ability to live and learn alongside many different nationalities as part of a boarding community.

You can book your space on the programme directly with us or through your local agent. Please note that direct bookings cover the programme cost and not transport to and from your home country, which you must arrange yourself.

Before booking, please get in touch with our Summer Programme Office to share any special educational needs, disabilities or assistance needed to attend the course. We will be happy to discuss prospective students’ needs.

Please email summerprogrammes@wycombeabbey.com if you have any queries, and we will be happy to help.

A chance to live and learn at one of the UK’s premier boarding schools

The School

Wycombe Abbey was founded on 23 September 1896 by Miss Frances Dove, later Dame Frances, a trailblazer who promoted equal opportunities for girls in the Victorian age. The School was established in Loakes Manor which had been redesigned by the celebrated architect James Wyatt for the first Lord Carrington in 1798.

THE HISTORY OF WYCOMBE ABBEY

Wycombe Abbey is renowned for academic excellence and for helping its students secure places at the world’s leading universities. The School has twice in the last ten years been named Independent School of the Year by The Sunday Times in its annual review of the independent school sector in the UK. In the Spear’s Schools Index, Wycombe Abbey is regularly named as one of the top 100 schools globally and one of the top 25 senior schools in the UK; in 2023, it was listed as a Finalist for School of the Year. It is one of the most trusted names in education, and we extend this excellence to our summer programme.

Our values are the principles that guide our interactions with everyone at the School and in our community. These values are embedded in our Summer Programmes: trust, encouragement, mutual respect, dynamism, excellence, innovation, service, and balance.

A summer filled with learning, culture and fun!
